Don't Be The Fool I Was!

First of all, if you're marketing online then whatever niche you work in you should be building a list of subscribers. And assuming that you are, you should be making them a great offer the moment they sign up because this tactic definitely works.

Secondly, I want to hammer this principle home in numbers just so you understand the potential.

Assuming you can grow your mailing list by 300 new subscribers per month (if not I'll explain how to do that and more shortly), and that you make all your new subscribers a great special offer that sells for $67.

With a typical 1% conversion rate, you could earn:-

3 sales at $67 = $201 / month
$201 x 12 months = $2,412 / year

For just a few hours work that you did ONCE, you've added $2,412 / year to your income.

Every year.

With a little testing and tweaking of the sales copy and offer, you can get most pages up to 3% in just a few weeks and it's certainly worth the small amount of effort to do this.

Incidentally, most people ignore trying to increase their conversions, when it's the easiest thing to do of all.

It now all becomes a numbers game.

You know that every effort you put out to build your list, whether it's via blog traffic, article traffic, Pay Per Click (PPC), solo ads in an ezine, whatever... It all means that every new subscriber you get adds $2.01 to your bank account.

How does it feel knowing that information?

Have you enjoyed the warm realisation of how you can now hold your enthusiasm (for a prolonged period of time) for all your list building efforts?

Every new subscriber means an extra $2.01 to you within an average month. (For now let's ignore that subscribers will also mean an increased income to you every month, not just the first one.)

Once you know how much a subscriber is worth, you can start to make decisions about how much to spend to acquire one.

This is one of the key methods of how the big dog marketers make their decisions.

If you know your numbers, you can make good, sound business decisions.

So if you make $2.01 when you get a new subscriber, you may be willing to spend $1.00 (or more) to acquire them. As long as it doesn't cost you any more than the $2.01 that you already know you can make from them, then your internet business will be in the black.

Yes, you reduce your profits by spending some of it to acquire the new subscriber, but you can gear up and start "buying" more subscribers than you could probably generate from your own efforts.

Let me put this another way.

Imagine standing on a street handing out $1 bills to people that passed, and every time you did, they handed you $2 back.

How many would you hand out?

Having an offer in place and knowing your sign-up value allows you to set aside some of the profits to advertise your list far and wide.

In fact, just by setting in place the key learning points on this page means that you WILL have money that you can use to acquire more subscribers. Remember this is a NEW income stream you're probably not tapping into yet.
